This directory has always been a manual request and a manual submit site. It is interesting to note that a recent Google update penalises sites that have multiple random links from automated directories. Rather than being penalised for listing in this site, you should actually be rewarded by Google and any other search engine that adopts a similar approach to links. Google has not specifically targeted Directories but in fact is targeting all sites which are potential recipients of mass automated linking and where the same anchor text is used repeatedly over multiples of such sites.
